What is telehealth

Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies such as computers and mobile devices to access health care services remotely. Telehealth is a convenient and effective way for our clinicians to provide support to clients who may not be able to attend face-to-face in clinic appointments. Telehealth can include phone consultations and online live video sessions.

Is telehealth right for me/my child?

Our team will assess you/your child’s needs to determine whether telehealth is the most appropriate method of support. We will consider factors that may impact the suitability of telehealth including vision or hearing difficulties, attention/concentration, use of sign language, use of alternative and augmentative communication, severity of communication deficits, availability and proficiency in use of technology.

What technology will I need?

You will require a device that has a microphone and speaker such as a computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet. You will also need a webcam and good internet connection (the minimum standard is 3-5Mbps). You can assess your internet connection from websites such as …

You might also want to use headphones to hear your Youthrive clinician better. To access the platform for telehealth, we will send you a link via email. You will also need to have a flat surface to place your device on while having your session. The session needs to occur in a private and confidential space and you need to ensure you are able to see the screen and can be seen by your clinician on camera.
